What are the differences between Raycham, Max, and JPT lasers?

All three are major domestic fiber laser manufacturers, but their product lines, main models, application scenarios, and performance positioning are completely different:

MAX focuses on continuous high-power cutting,

JPT focuses on MOPA pulse precision marking/fine processing, and

Raycham focuses on special welding/3D printing/water-guided laser complete system solutions (JPT Laser).

1. MAX (Maxphotonics, China)

A leading manufacturer specializing in CW continuous-wave fiber lasers, widely used for metal sheet cutting.

Main product: CW fiber lasers ranging from 500W up to 30,000W; small-power Q-switched pulse lasers as secondary products.

Cooling: air cooling for ≤500W models, water cooling for ≥1000W versions.

Best for: carbon steel / stainless steel / aluminum sheet cutting, tube cutting & thick metal welding.

Advantage: cost-effective, high stability, global after-sales support, most popular laser source for standard laser cutting machines.

2. JPT (JPT Opto-electronics, listed company)

Pioneer of adjustable MOPA pulsed fiber lasers, focused on precision fine processing, also supplies UV, green and ultrafast femtosecond lasers.

Core feature: fully adjustable pulse width (1~500ns) & repetition frequency (1kHz~4MHz) via software.

Power range: 20W~500W pulsed lasers; 150W~3000W QCW quasi-continuous lasers.

Best for: precision laser marking, paint stripping, coating removal, thin material micro welding, PCB & consumer electronics micromachining.

3. Raycham

Focuses on customized special laser sources matched with complete equipment instead of standalone bulk laser sales.

Main products: dedicated lasers for SLM metal 3D printing, special welding, laser cladding and water-guided laser cutting.

Application: aerospace part manufacturing, metal additive manufacturing, special ceramic/ultrahard material cutting.

Remark: lasers are mostly sold together with full set machines, rarely available as separate spare laser sources in open market.

Applicable processing scenarios (selection is the most critical factor)

Choose MAX: Metal sheet/pipe cutting, thick plate welding

Carbon steel/stainless steel/aluminum sheet metal cutting, pipe laser cutting, thick plate cladding; the first choice for large-volume equipment installations, high cost-performance ratio, strong stability, and extensive after-sales service network.

Choose JPT: Fine marking, paint stripping, plating removal, thin-wall precision welding, PCB micromachining

Deep marking of aluminum/copper/stainless steel, anodizing layer removal, electroplating layer peeling, fine metal engraving, lithium battery tab welding; For consumer electronics, semiconductors, and plastic laser engraving, choose JPT MOPA for versatile processes.

✅ Choose Raycham: Metal 3D Printing, Specialized Aerospace Welding, Water-guided Laser (Glass/Ceramic/Single Crystal Blades) Water-guided cutting of aero-engine blades, SLM metal printing, laser repair and cladding of large workpieces; Raycham light sources are almost never used for civilian marking/cutting, focusing on high-end specialized manufacturing.

Price & Market Characteristics

MAX: Lowest price for continuous light sources of the same power, largest production scale, highest standard inclusion rate in complete machines, most commonly used light source in export cutting machines;

JPT: MOPA pulsed light source is more expensive than ordinary Q-switched light source, high process premium, standard inclusion in precision processing equipment, first choice for high-end export marking machines; UV/ultrafast light sources are relatively expensive;

Raycham: Does not sell light sources separately, only shipped with complete 3D printing/water guiding equipment sets, very few single light sources are available on the market, highest price, mainly used in military and aerospace channels.
